BLOCK ARCADE

The Guardians

The Guardians are ancient observers of light’s passage through the world. Over time they have evolved to soak up light, hold onto it and gently release it when night’s darkness lingers and the equilibrium between light and dark is frayed. Their constantly unfurling foliage undergoes a constant colour metamorphosis.

Seek solace in these stately Guardians as they look over Melbourne’s beloved Block Arcade.

Floating Nature

An overhead floating landscape of Banksias creates an ever-changing and vivid colour landscape. Light interacts with the Banksia leaves as they reflect, diffract and transmit light. The leaves are arranged as in nature (via the Fibonacci arrangement) so as to maximise their contact with light.

Horizon

An overhead floating landscape of large prominent flowers with dragonfly inspired petals gently activate and meander, conjuring up highly vivid colours. Altering one’s vantage point of the flowers alters their colour palette creating hues of purples, yellows, blues and reds that blend into each other with the passage of time.

Seek an audience with Horizon as it gently blooms across the stately Royal Arcade
